The “God Story”
From the first day we talked about this book, Mac and I wanted it to convey hope to young people so they won’t be so discouraged by the world they inherited that they will give up! Give up on God! Give up on our civilization that is not making sense because of the ways we live! Give up on the human species that seems determined to do itself in, again!
There is a much deeper side to Earth Story than they have been taught.
One civilization after another has been on a dead-end path for more than 5,000 years. Not a single one has survived. In explaining why a new civilization may not rise up out of our ashes if we fail, this book tells the deep “Species Side” of the story on a uniquely, personal level. In short, the dilemma we must solve is a human Consciousness Crisis. It can’t be solved by institutions acting on behalf of people.
Since the infancy of our species on the beautiful garden planet we call Earth,
We humans have participated, unconsciously, in
“God’s Story.”
It is that story that we have wished to tell!
As individuals, and as a species, the book invites us to participate, consciously, in
Earth’s story, the Universe story, and the Creation story!
We must use the consciousness (and conscience) that
humans were born with to find our way forward.
When our species came into existence, the gift of “freedom to choose,” and responsibility for the consequences of our choices, were dual gifts that made us unique among all species. The generations alive now have an opportunity to act in redemptive ways—like none before us! To be alive on planet Earth at this turning point in the human story is, in itself, a gift and an honor.
A Miniature History of Earth is a gift of hope for future generations from the hearts of two old codgers.
